Messy Lab Pottery Studio is a place where chaos feeds creativity, where order is not perfect and homologated. As Bernard Leach says, "Perfection can be a fetish". A recent "feminine" project conceived almost by chance in the spring of 2016 with the hope of succeeding in giving concrete expression to dreams and ideas. Torri Superiore's pottery studio is currently run by six women, passionate ceramists who keep alive the space throughout the year organizing pottery-wheel and hand-moulding courses for all ages. In a digitized world preferring the use our hands may seem apparently against the current, but if you pay attention you can notice a growing return to manual work, especially among young people. Clay reveals a world full of experiences, processing and decoration techniques are infinite, so it's impossible to get bored! Clay can become an inebriating passion. Its malleability has an incredible intrinsic power and is able to involve everyone, adults and children. Clay is a living material, nothing closer to eco-sustainability, to the four natural elements (earth, water, fire, air) and to a more human dimension. Making pottery also corresponds to a choice of life. We think it can represent an alternative to the frantic pace and to the exasperated consumerism that has characterized in particular the last few decades.
